ALBANY PRIDE HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
The Albany Pride Hockey Association (APHA) is a co-ed LGBTQ-focused adult hockey association in the Capital Region of NY. We are dedicated to creating a safe, secure and nurturing environment for LGBTQ athletes and their allies to learn and play hockey. Operating since 2005, we recently became a 501(c)(3) non-profit and supports over 30 members.
Through shared experiences with others in the community we look to educate and combat falsely held perceptions regarding LGBTQ athletes in both hockey and the broader sporting community. The APHA encourages everyone to play hockey, regardless of someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity.
It is incredibly important to have a place where LGBTQ people can belong, find acceptance and find positive role models. That’s exactly what the Albany Pride Hockey Association provides.
Join the Albany Bombers:
The APHA’s premier hockey team is the Albany Bombers, an adult recreational, coed, LGBTQ and straight-friendly ice hockey team since 2005. The Albany Bombers is always looking for new players or volunteers. For more information about the Albany Bombers and how to join:
